Squad Reinforcement
On 21 August 2026, the Senegal men's senior basketball team held its fourth training session at Marius Ndiaye, Dakar. New head coach Gaeton Douet saw the squad grow from 11 to 12 players with the arrival of Canadian pivot Elijah Lufile.
Lufile’s First Training
Elijah Lufile, 28 years old, 2.01 m tall and 129 kg, completed his first training session that Friday morning. He joins teammates Matthieu Kamba, Jonathan Kasibabu and Franck Nyembo, who will play their last club match before heading to Dakar.
Preparing for the Qualifiers
The Leopards are gearing up for the 4th and penultimate window of the FIBA Qatar 2027 Africa qualifiers, which will take place in Dakar at the end of the month. Lufile’s presence strengthens the team’s attack and defense for this critical phase.
