In a letter dated July 31, 2026, Ibrahima Barry, secretary general of the Feguifoot, addressed a missive to Abdoulaye Saydou Sow, his Senegalese counterpart, to express Guinea's desire to co-host the 2032 AFCON with Senegal. Guinea's Football Federation believes that this joint bid constitutes a strong symbol of fraternity, integration, and regional cooperation. It also highlights the geographical proximity of Guinea and Senegal as a major advantage for such a bid.
Senegal's position
Senegal has clearly expressed its ambition to host the 2032 AFCON. Senegal's Football Federation had previously wanted to co-host the 2025 AFCON with Guinea, but the then-president, Alpha Condé, had stifled the enthusiasm of the Senegalese. Since the provisional homologation of the 28-September Stadium in Conakry, enthusiasm has grown, with the personal involvement of Prime Minister Oury Bah, who signed the official bid letter last Thursday, on behalf of the President of the Republic of Guinea, who makes the organization of the Africa Cup of Nations a national priority, and his Sports Minister, Mamadou Cellou Baldé.
